But... what's with the funny name?

Where does it come from?
How is it pronounced?

If it's ever to get used, this is bound to become one of those projects with these questions on its FAQ...

So, I'll just satisfy your curiosity right away!

‘Jau’ is Portuguese for ‘Javanese’ - Of or relating to Java or its people, language, or culture. (Portuguese fellows in amazement, check your dictionaries)

It's pronouced ‘Jou’ as in Java and out.

Pretty cool, ain't it?

I'm actually really proud of it - that is, of knowing the one who thought it up for me... many thanks!

I never dreamed we had such a word... Confirmed, it's a portuguese word, and it means exactly what you said.
Boa sorte.
